How to install Flarum In PHP Version 5.4

I have some problem with my hosting ...they support PHP v5.4 , and flarum req 5.5... So iss there any way to install on PHP v5.4... I had also contacted my hosting web master he said that 5.4 is stable version..... Can anyone help me

aayanrocks15 I have a few different hosting accounts with Site5, Hostmonster, and GoDaddy.

In the cpanel you can go to PHP and select which version you would like to run. The install I did was defaulted to 5.4 but 5.5 was available.

5.5 and 5.6 are also stable versions of PHP.

Flarum will not work on earlier versions of PHP. If your provider refuses to upgrade you will need to find a new webhost.

And they should really upgrade. 5.4 is not supported anymore, even security support will end in 12 days.

Stew I installed it without any trouble on Namecheap. You created the MySQL database and user and added the user with all the permissions to it?

Shared hosters won't update to a newer version so fast, because all clients will be immediately affected. The bigger the company the more work it is to inform customers, provide support and explain the backward compatibility issues; or rather the lack of compatibility.

You should avoid this kind of hosting providers.
It's late 2015 and you don't want use it anymore.
You simply don't.

Php 5.4 is horribly outdated we more than likely won't see support for it to be implemented.

I agree it's a tough decision but at least 5.5 should be required. A hosting that doesn't update is not good or worth using it...

Especially given that PHP 5.5 has very few backwards-incompatible changes.
