I'm sorry if I came across overly agressive in this post; that was not my intention.
Even though I feel it has been discussed enough, I'll try one more time: I'm not at all opposed to looking into viable alternatives to Pusher if they're better, or open-source, or whatever. That requires work, though. And if that work is requested in such a way, then I get a little impatient, because it feels so demanding.
Now, after reading the post again (and again and again), I guess it wasn't necessarily meant in such a way. To me, it looked like a demanding core feature request ("Hey guys, you should really replace Pusher with this other service, but I won't explain why.") when it really may have been a suggestion for anybody to write such an extension.
