Country Flag Extension Request

Hello,

Can anyone develop an extension to put country flags to user profiles and make it visible under every post that the user posts?

Have you looked into Flagrow Masquerade? It might suit your needs.

This is a discourse post. They have this.

The user selects the locale from their profile, and then the flag shows up on every post they post.

This is actually something that could be added to Masquerade (or as a second extension reading values from Masquerade). Would be easier if the country icons were included in Fontawesome.

clarkwinkelmann I was going to say that! Perhaps request it to the guys at Font Awesome and see whether they'll include it in their suite. ? That would be the best case scenario (I would use it too).

I don't know about the newest FA version, but as far as I know, FA icons are monochromatic unless you combine two or more of them.

At least we have some of them in the set of emojis, but unfortunately it's not complete. ?? ?? ?? :in: :br: ?? ??

there are plenty of more to choose from (over 265 country flags) not included the first 4 I displayed (because they aren't country's lol just symbolic flags).

Shahiem I've got every one of these flags downloaded in both GIF and PNG formats. They're created by Mark James and are available on his website famfamfam.com along with other icons he has created. ?

Oh, I see you inserted the Unicode entities. This way, the character 🇧🇷 is translated to the emoji ??, which in contrast to the unicode character looks the same on different platforms (and also better i.m.h.o.)

I assumed the brasil flag missing, because the Emoji code :br:, which is offered by the Emoji Picker, doesn't translate to the Emoji (as you can see :br: here). The same holds true for the :in: code for India. For everyone missing some of the flags: Try :flag_ and then the country code, so you will find :flag_br: and :flag_in: too, and they work.

By trial and error I just found out, that also :brazil: and :india: work for ?? and ?? too even though the are not offered by the Emoji Picker. ?

Whatever, if this list is complete, it looks like the best option for a Flarum extension.
