Without any link to Google

Hi there
Just started to test Flarum on my self-hosted server. Very nice approach !
One question: I would like to have no links to Google (Fonts, Icons, Analytics) on my installation. Somebody tried this, too?

Google Analytics is not part of Flarum's core. The icons are provided by Font Awesome which is hosted on your own server. The stock font of Flarum is Open Sans and is linked via fonts.googleapis.com, so that's the point where you'd have to modify the software.

I've yet not found an easy way to replace that link, but it should be possible via an extension. Unfortunately I don't know of any such extension but I would be interested as well.

Thanks for information. Today such a software should be designed that fonts and icons are stored locally. If someone wants to add external links - why not. But in a "standard" version such links have to be avoided IMHO.

poVoq anything that is hard-coded will be removed when you update Flarum. In order to avoid this, you would need to code it as an extension (which you can get help with by looking at topics in the Dev tag, looking at other extensions, or asking in the Dev tag or in #extend on our Discord server).

Uhmm, exactly that is why it would be nice to not have that hardcoded link in the core unaltered Flarum codebase?

Sorry, don't want to sound demanding, but with the EU privacy laws and all that it would be nice to get rid of this google tracking ASAP.

poVoq it's on the to-do list but in the meantime it should be possible by an extension using this method.

We changed the font on our flarum forum by setting custom css, @OrdinaryJellyfish should be able to help you

Frink This doesn't exclude Google. We discussed that point recently.

Pollux good point, sorry, didn't follow the discussion all the way through. This should be a part of core eventually, at least imo.
