Cannot install

During the install process, the following error is thrown:

Base table or view not found: 1146 Table 'settings' doesn't exist

I've run through the troubleshooting steps and checked all the required extensions are installed, which they are.

Is there anything else I can try? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

MySQL - 5.6.35

I’m using MAMP 4.2.1 on Mac High Sierra if it helps.

It has created the following tables:

access_tokens
api_keys
auth_tokens
config
discussions
email_tokens
groups
migrations
notifications
password_tokens
permissions
posts
users
users_discussions
users_groups

...but appears that the settings is missing?!

mattsteele try running php flarum migrate -vvv or in case that says it already migrated, clear your database and run php flarum install -vvv the output is important here.

Does this mean something hasn't downloaded correctly?

What hostname did you use for the database? Odd that only settings wasn't migrated ?

Out of curiosity, I've just tried a different table name, but it made no difference.

We're getting somewhere. Is this a machine you manage yourself? Can you check how MySQL is configured, eg by sock or by tcp/ip?

Even if you were able to do that, Flarum would still not be able to connect to the database. Rendering your installation useless.

It looks to be socket - /Applications/MAMP/tmp/mysql/mysql.sock - as I can't connect to 127.0.0.1 through Sequel Pro, but can using socket.

I think a socket won't work with Flarum ? Looking at how Laravel sets up the connection it's a separate configuration key unix_socket. You should configure your MySQL server to listen to 127.0.0.1 that should fix being able to use that IP for connections.
