Lazy Load images for threads with lots of large images?

I couldn't find anything in the search, has anyone thought of making a lazy load image for discussions with lots of large images?

I know lots of posts will lazy load but if the posts that do load have a lot of images it is an interesting experience...

You mean not loading the images until they are in the view ?

Or having a placeholder while the images are waiting to load so the content don't jump when the images load ? Or something about not loading the images unless the user asks to ?

Of course the best solution in your case would probably be to not put the full resolution images right in your posts. It's not only taking time to load, it might cost your visitors a lot of unnecessary bandwidth. Doesn't that photo hosting website you're using offers a smaller resolution with a link to the full resolution as bbcode or markdown ?

I'm not sure what we implemented in Flagrow Upload but I think it would be able to show low-quality previews of big image files.

In this case lazy loading wouldn't help much. All images are somewhere between 20 to 30MB (!!) a piece. I'm surprised that my browser didn't crash and I'm lucky that I don't need to pay for data transfers ?

What would help is if Flarum specified the size of images in advance. That's also a prerequisite for (proper) lazy loading. Also users shouldn't need to add weird tags and URLs to post a picture. That should be drag and drop or a simple 'add image' button after which Flarum places a reduced size image in the post.

Posts are already lazy loaded which means images are already lazy loaded ?
