How To Upgrade

I'am installed Flarum Beta 2 in my website... but I have a question: when you see some updating (to Beta 3, for example), it will be necessary must delete the Flarum on my website and install the new version OR is there some way to make the atualiação without losing any (topics, posts, users, etc.)?

Lucky It's wise during beta not to assume that everything will go smoothly, as GOD says.

In any case, I'm sure Toby will include complete instructions in the Beta 3 release thread. And I get the feeling that is not to far away at all now. So please hang in there just a bit longer, and you'll get an official answer. 😉

Everyone was able to upgrade from Beta 1 to Beta 2. It maybe possible to do the same with Beta 3, but it is not guaranteed as this is prerelease software.

It is planned for future releases to have an official upgrade method. But that is not guaranteed until the product is final

I know everyone can perform the update, but I am concerned, for example, when getting out of beta to the official, is necessary to delete all files and install it again.

Speaking in general so that it maybe clear for others...

I know development has been working hard to make upgrading from each build possible and that is still the plan. But there is no true guarantee until the final version. From that point on, yes, there will be a guaranteed upgrade path. But during beta, while it is the goal, there is no 100% guarantee.

I know some people have been using the beta in production (myself included). But unless you are willing to take the risk, you should either stick to testing or wait until the final release. Testing of course is encouraged as it will help weed out bugs or issues in the final release.
