How to make Welcome Banner visible again ?

Hi. I notice that when i press X button on Welcome Banner i can't see the message again even i change it. So how can i make it visible again after i press that X button in top right corner.

I ask this question because that Welcome Banner message can be used as some global notification or somthing like tkat. And after users pressing that X they will never see the updated message.

I have a solution, but i believe it's not really what you want to do.

Open your console (F12) then paste this code :

localStorage.removeItem("welcomeHidden");

Then refresh your page.

The "welcome banner" seems to be driven by that variable. This code will remove the variable making it visible again.

But this is not ... User friendly.
Maybe in a not so distant future there will be tools, in the admistration panel, to drive that...

To HavocK's point - include that in a script in the templates or in a landing page. Then when users hit the page it clears it for them.

From my understanding after you've cleared your browser history and relogged in the banner should be there till you click the "X" button again, I myself think there should be an option for Reappear over X amount of time, or when the user closes then opens the forum up in a new window, & Disable which would disable the welcome banner for said user till they want the banner visible again, or clear & relog into their account on the forum.

You can clear the cookies from Flarum to make it visible again.

it should be like, when you change the message from Admin Panel, it becomes visible again.
Maybe this will be an extension, or a feature.

This shouldn't be too hard. Instead of storing a simple boolean flag in localstorage, this could be a checksum or date of the message, so we can show the banner again when it changes.
