I had never heard of this until a few days ago. But, it got me thinking. Maybe instead of a pure white background my forum should use #fffff8. And for text, #111111. This is partially what is suggested in this Tufte CSS article. It’s not as “in your face” and pure white and black. Yet, it’s sutble enough that people will still see what is basically black and white.
Should #fffff8 be considered for the default Flarum background color? I don’t know. It’s an interesting and simple thing that I never thought about much. Use slightly less bright colors.
