Serving Forum via HTTPS: Protocol

I am hoping to secure (via an SSL cert) the domain at which my forum is hosted. Is anyone running a forum on the https: protocol? Should it be as simple as updating my config file to 'url' => 'https://domain' or will I need to make other configuration tweaks? I'd like to have a better handle on compatibility before purchasing and installing a cert. Thanks.

Hello UaMV,

After you have setup SSL on the server it should be really enough to change url to https:// instead of http://.

I host a forum myself on pure SSL (HTTP gets redirect to HTTPS): https://diysrv.eu.org/ (not production - just trying out to see how Flarum would do for such a forum).

I successfully set this up today. You are correct that it was enough to make the change within config.php.

I did also add a few lines to .htaccess according to these suggestions which enforces SSL and will force HTTP requests to HTTPS.
