Change background color

How do you change Flarum's overall background color. I want to change it from white to a less intense off-white.

Simply using the following doesn't work. This changes the hidden body background. In other words, the layer underneath Flarum.

body{background-color:#whatevercolor;}

In my case that worked, but you have to adjust the color of other elements as well, e.g. .Scrubber-handle, .DiscussionListItem:hover etc.
