500 error after downloading beta 4

Hi all.

I've installed Composer and have downloaded beta 4. However, upon going to the dir where I've downloaded Flarum, I get a 500 error instead of the installation page.

I checked the error.log in the Flarum dir, and found this:

[06-Nov-2015 22:45:46 America/New_York] PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '[' in /home/xxx/public_html/xxx/forums/vendor/illuminate/support/helpers.php on line 356

Any help would be most welcome! I'm on PHP 5.5.27, Apache 2.4.12, MySQL 5.5.45 on a shared server (with HawkHost). Thanks!

Oh, forgot to mention that the server is running LiteSpeed 6.8.

Are you sure you're really using PHP 5.5? It looks like it doesn't understand the short array syntax (which has been there since PHP 5.4).

Well, Cpanel was showing PHP 5.5, but phpinfo was showing 5.3. However, the problem is now fixed. There was a rogue AddHandler in the public_html .htaccess file that was forcing 5.3 and affecting the whole server.
