Directory not writeable error

jordanjay29 Wanted to install Flarum( Ubuntu+Nginx) and I have the same issue. Glad I found this post to not duplicate it here.

Unfortunatelly I did all the above, I guess, and the error message is still prompting on the install page. Both asset and storage folders have: Access: (0775/drwxrwxr-x) Uid: ( 33/www-data) Gid: ( 33/www-data)

Any help would be much appreciated.

ckubs did you try chown -R www-data:www:data /path/to/public_html

Tharindu After I did that now I get 3 errors instead of 2. Third one being that also public_html is not writeable.

ckubs Sorry about the delay. User www-data is the default user used by nginx on Ubuntu. The fact that you're getting permission errors means your nginx uses a different user. You either need to find out which user nginx using and grant folder permissions to that user or configure nginx to use www-data as user.

May I know how you setup your server? And your Ubuntu version?

Tharindu Sorry for the so late reply. I didn't thinked about split option and thought my comments were deleted when I didn't find them on the other posts.

I finally managed to install Flarum. ?
