Discussions not marked as read if not scrolled to the very bottom

I don't kow if this is intentional or not. I mean, if I entered a long discussion I don't usually scroll it to the very last comment, especially if it's not that interesting. I pressed back after reading the first 3 to 5 replies, then I'll find another discussion to read. If I do that, the first discussion thread would still be bolded, as in not marked as read.

What do you guys think about this? Wouldn't it feel more natural if that thread is marked as read or is it just me

This happens for me on mobile, is that where it occurs for you? Not so much on desktop.

If you're familiar enough with the problem you should consider opening an issue about it.

This seems to be normal. If you don't want to scroll to the bottom, scroll right (I'm on an iPhone 6s) on the discussion title and it will mark it as read.

I like the way it is. If all posts aren't read then technically you haven't physically read the discussion so it shouldn't be marked as being read to begin with.
