Alkir You may be able to use Flagrow's Linguist by setting the "Write a Post..." translation to an empty text input.
Not sure if that's possible, but I would imagine so.

Alkir The only way to do this without an extension is to use Flagrow's Linguist. With it, you can edit any translatable string in Flarum, so you should be able to 'remove' the line.

You can set the string to a zero-width space (see https://unicode-table.com/en/200B/ to copy one) and the text will basically no longer show.

If it's when you are trying to save the "All" translation, make sure you do have a zero-width space saved in your clipboard and paste it into the input.

Alkir I thought what you wanted to do was only remove the placeholder text for the discussion's content.
The content is still required, but the post content input now doesn't have the background text for you to know that you have to write it.

If what you want is to have no discussion content, that's not currently possible without an extension and there are no extensions available for that, as far as I know.
