Hi VIRUXE, thanks for being observant. I really do appreciate the feedback. Please know that we try to be considerate when we take moderator actions, we do want to facilitate discussion here and have a positive community. We also want to uphold our Community Guidelines and frequently try to remind users when they step outside these lines.
From time to time we have to take more drastic action. We don't take this lightly, as we understand that not all users who break rules do so with intention, so you won't find yourself banned for one simple infraction. However, repeated rule-breaking and ignoring moderation (which can be easy to do with our less-than-complete feature set here), can earn someone a temporary or permanent suspension.
Our developers are doing their best to balance the feature set, and they understand the growing need of this community. We're slowly getting some moderation features fixed and improved here, but we don't want to prioritize it all over the rest of Flarum development. In the meantime, we might have to apply a firmer hand to spam and off-topic posts here to ensure that discussions don't go wildly off-course. Once we get features like Split and Private Messages, I think there will be an easier time for both moderators and our community members to have a positive experience.
