peopleinside There's no tagged version for Beta 8 yet, that's why. It will happen once Beta 8 is released.
I advise some patience, it's going to take a little time for extension devs to get their extensions updated to Beta 8. When the release drops, you may want to hold off until all your extensions are ready, unless you're willing to suffer without them in the meantime.
If you're setting up a development version, then use the dev-master version of extensions like Links. As with dev-master in general, you test the unreleased version of Beta 8 at your own risk.
