Is there any suggested work around? Like, say, can I create tables manually and update the local tables to InnoDB (and not change the global settings).

neoblizz I would have to know your host to give you detailed instructions, but as far as I know as long as the tables database/tables themselves are innodb you should be fine.

Kyrne I am using GoDaddy, it is unfortunate that they don't allow such a simple change. But it would be of immense help if you can tell me how I can get this working -- I am excited to use Flarum!

        What about this error?

        PHP: 7.1.8
        Database: MariaDB 5.5.60
        Database is: utf8mb4_unicode_ci
        default_storage_engine: InnoDB

Chris89 How did you please solve this issue? I'm getting the same error, nothing in the PHP error log, only the header is displayed and a message core.views.content.load_error_message.
