Removing Start a Discussion from the homepage

I am starting a new discussion, since I kinda fixed the issues explained in my previous post.

Users are not being redirected to their post after starting a new discussion from the homepage, however they do if started when the specific category is open. So my question is whether it would possible to deactivate/remove the Start a Discussion button from the homepage with custom CSS styling. That will work as a temporary fix, while we figure out how to solve the major issue.

Other than these, there should be a preference under permissions to restrict user groups to create discussions and that will disable the start a discussion for them.

ardacebi Thanks. Will take a look. And we would want them to start discussions, just not from the homepage, as there is an issue we can't fix at the moment and the forum is in production. We want the button hidden/removed, not permissions changed.

And I was seeking some css help from here, as I'm not familiar with coding at all. Not sure what these elements are called in order to write my own css style, etc.

Toby Thanks! And could you assist with the major issue, since it got lost somewhere in my previous discussion. When starting a discussion from the homepage, you won't get redirected to it, however it appears under the specific category. It's a bit odd and we never had this problem before updating to Beta 8.
