Fresh installation and Method Not Allowed Exception

Hello,
I am new at Flarum, I have just completed the install proccess but still getting

production.ERROR: Flarum\Http\Exception\MethodNotAllowedException: GET in /home/nightwalker/web/www/forum/vendor/flarum/core/src/Http/Middleware/DispatchRoute.php:62

in storage/logs/flarum-yyyy-mm-dd.log at the forum base URL (http://localhost/forum/)
In the browser, I have

Flarum \ Http \ Exception \ RouteNotFoundException (404)

My setup:

OS: Debian 9 (stretch)
PHP 7.2, Apache/2.4.25, Mysql8.0.14
Flarum base dir: /home/nightwalker/web/www/forum
Virtualhost base dir: /home/nightwalker/web/www

I put this in /home/nightwalker/web/www/forum/.htaccess:
DirectoryIndex /forum/public/index.php Options +Indexes Options +FollowSymlinks RewriteEngine On RewriteBase /forum/ RewriteRule ^ /forum/public/index.php [QSA,L]

Please help me fix this.

Did it work before you edited your .htaccess?

Thanks, its started working fine!
The home page was not working but I successfully accessed the /admin page. I made some switches (forum name, logo, groups, dark mode, ...) and the homepage displayed properly

Another thing: if I clean cache and try to immediately access the homepage I get
TypeError Argument 1 passed to Flarum\Formatter\Event\Rendering::__construct() must be an instance of s9e\TextFormatter\Renderer, instance of __PHP_Incomplete_Class given, called in /home/nightwalker/web/www/forum/vendor/flarum/core/src/Formatter/Formatter.php on line 78

so I bypass this by going to the admin panel and then to the home
