Discussions to be displayed in Quora way

I was using Quora last night when I saw this

And then I started searching whether this can be possible for flarum to do so or not .
To display discussions that has image in this way for better users attention to the discussion. To implement it we have to change the way discussions are displayed when images are present in there . It'll be a good feature to add 😀

Like this discussion which I have started . If it could have displayed image next to my content ,wouldn't that attract more devs to look into it and think of the way to work on it 😁 ??

Tapatalk uses this kind of displaying too. This would also give less space for other discussion titles on the screen (esp. on mobile phones). Nonetheless, I like this idea.

Yeah agreed it would show less discussion on phone screen but of all the screens (like desktops, laptops, tablets and phones )
Showing images with context would attract more attention (not saying it wouldn't on other screens , it's just maximum users would use this forum on mobile too. For eg :Like me . I use it on both laptop and mobile screens
And if it's the same way as Quora then I think user engagement would surely increase :👍

AnoopSharma I absolutely love the idea and it would be amazing if devs can give an option for this kind of layout for discussions.
As far as the doubts about having less space on mobile then, take a look at Instagram, youtube and most blogs, these all show big images with a short summary but still, people use these platforms more and more. It's not just about displaying more stuff on a small screen, but to display smartly and beautifully so that people would enjoy spending time on the website. So yes, this kind of layout will help a lot to those websites which have a lot of images.

This specific idea isn't on the roadmap. What you'll see in UI changes is likely more of refinements of our current UI, not so much sweeping changes.

Your better bet is to write an extension for the kind of UI you want to see. Flarum is fully compatible with that (see Koseki for an example).

Well, according to the roadmap, UI changes will be considered in version 0.3, which at this rate will be coming maybe in three years...
