Any reason why replies are not nested under the actual comment?

@luceos I am curious if there is a specific reason the developers have chosen not to nest replies directly under the corresponding post (reddit style)?

Was it a matter of preference, usability, etc? To me, the conversation is easier to follow if the reply is inserted directly underneath the post (and indented a little), vs. having each new reply showing at the very bottom of the page.

If I wanted to modify this for my own deployment, would it be easy to customize the source code to change this to nested replies? Thanks in advance.

@luceos I agree I think that the hover function is a little uncomfortable.
I'll be expecting all sorts of new customers coming in, so I can't expect people to just live with something they may not like.

It is a specific design choice. Much as the scrubber on the right, the overview list on the left and many other things. Flarum has set out to be groundbreaking and so far has inspired competitors to adopt several design elements already.

With an existing extension yes, but I haven't seen one yet to tackle this.

My uncomfortable feeling might be down to not using the forum. It would likely be something i have to force myself here to do, as this isn't a personal hobby forum or topic. I am liking the features i have tried so far, just the reply one is something I'm trying to wrap my head around. Without being part of the ecosystem it's hard to grasp at first glance

PS I really love the way Quoting works. The genius that thought that one up 5/5. Also the adjustable input box, coupled with your live preview, YES!

We don't feel left out, what luceos means is that the devs regularly read all the discussions on this board. He's suggesting that other members have valid opinions that tagging specific people can dissuade from being shared.
