Inter-discussion replying

I love how while replying I can browser other discussions without losing my reply. Can a reply contain references to different posts in different discussions?

gperlman Not at the moment. It's assumed that if you are in another discussion and you click "Reply" on a post that you want to reply within that discussion. Otherwise it could get confusing, if you think you're replying to that topic but in actual fact you're continuing your reply from another one.

I would be open to adding an option to make both possible. Not a huge priority right now, though.

It's not exactly the same as "inter-discussion replying", but ...

Sometimes I think it would be nice to be able to quote something from another discussion. Ideally, a user should be able to click on the quote to open the relevant discussion in a different tab. Would this sort of thing be doable?

At the moment it's a two-step process: post a link and copy a quote. Some way to streamline the process would be nice (though not really a huge priority).
