Software looks awesome. I've read the "don't use this in production" and "it will be ready when it's ready" stuff. That being said, would it be bad to use beta in production for a new brand new forum?

Do I risk losing data in the upgrades? Or what are the downsides?

JRay It is a possibility depending on your programming skills.

We can't guarantee anything. You might be fine. You might encounter problems beyond your skills (or anyone's) to fix. That's why we issue the cautionary warning not to use in production. If you want to do so anyway, you do at your own risk.

Thanks guys. I have an opportunity to use it for a project that needs a great forum ASAP but it may be a little early for Flarum me thinks. I'm tempted though! 🙂

JRay You might be content with EsoTalk or FluxBB, the two predecessors (our devs come from these great softwares) of Flarum. There should be an importer from these forums to the stable version of Flarum when the time comes.
