"Something went wrong..." error on localhost

Hello there,

I installed Flarum on localhost and for some actions it works fine (creating new topics, answering etc.) but for some (installing new extensions, reseting email etc.) it keeps on saying that "Oops! Something went wrong. Please reload the page and try again."

I saw many topics here about this issue and tried to turn on the debug mode but no details are being shown. display_errors is turned on in php.ini.

My PHP version is 7.3. I've read somewhere that it could be an issue. Is that true?

Wishmaster If you turn on debug mode and then open the Browser Console (F12, click the console tab) and then reload the page, does it provide any errors there?

If not, check storage/logs/flarum.log there should be errors in there.

If you could also paste the output of php flarum info run in your flarum root folder, that would also help.

It looks like Swiftmail is having problems starting up, which could be what is causing the errors you see. A quick Google search returns this, which says you should probably use the mail or log driver on Windows (smtp would attempt to use /usr/bin/sendmail which Windows does not have).
