Background: I have a shared webhost (Bluehost), so I had to first run MySQL, XAMP, and composer on my PC to set up Flarum. I had this thing working on my website, but I messed it up when I decided to change things and try to get rid of all the (example: "http://mywebsite.com/flarum/public") crap and just have a url that says "http://www.mywebsite.com."
Deleted everything on my website and started from scratch.
I followed these instructions:
I uploaded all flarum files from my PC to shared Bluehost folder /home4/tortoise2/public_html/ (I am using cPanel)
1) Flarum website opens on my PC at http://localhost/flarum/public
2) I have a database setup with a database user attached. I imported .SQL export from PC database to Blue Host database.
3) I went into config.php and changed url from 'http://localhost/flarum/public' to 'https://www.mywebsite.com/flarum/public. I get "Error booting Flarum: syntax error, unexpected '?', expecting variable (T_VARIABLE)".
4) Tried 'https://www.mywebsite.com/public' and when I type in that url address in my browser and I get "Error booting Flarum: syntax error, unexpected '?', expecting variable (T_VARIABLE)".
What in the heck am I supposed to name the url? Like I said, everything is in public_html (this folder is labeled with a blue globe in cPanel)?
