Meaning of "View user last seen time" permission

Hi,
I've found that if I give the permission "View user last seen time" to all the members, any user can see whether another user is online, even if the other user has enabled the privacy option that allows to hide the online status.

Is this the intended behaviour? How should I read that permission? Is it something like an override meant for admins/moderators?

matteocontrini The "View user last seen time" permission bypasses the privacy option. Anyone can see the online status if they don't have their online status hidden, but those with the permission can see anyone's.

EDIT: When I say "online status", that includes the last time they were online.
