How exactly is persistently stored information who is following which tag? I was not able to find some database table for it.

Flaiming The information is stored in the tag state for each user. This is found in the tag_user table.

Thank you for this extension, helps a lot!

I found one problem while using it:
I follow Tag A.
Due to permissions I am not allowed to see Tag B.
In the "Following" page after choosing "Everything you Follow" I see discussions that are tagged with A and B, even though I should not be able to see discussions with Tag B. When I try to open the discussion, I get an error message. (The requested resource was not found.).
Interestingly if I choose "Followed Tags", I don't see these discussions.

I'm trying to find a way to be notified via email when someone starts a new topic. Is this the only way?

I tried installing this extension and I don't see the "Lurking" or "Hiding" options on that dropdown menu when I am viewing an existing topic. I also tried updating and clearing the cache.

Is it compatible with 0.1.0-beta.13 ?

chrisduke click on a tag from the homepage or Tags page, the dropdown is underneath the "start a new discussion" on the left. The setting is per-tag. On a single discussion page you see the dropdown for Flarum's Subscriptions extension.

Is there a way to modify an emails blade template (\vendor\fof\follow-tags\resources\views\emails\newPost.blade.php) (for translation, adaptation) ?
In symfony framework, we can simply override a bundle template, is it possible with flarum ?
How can i modify emails sended by fof-follow-tags ?

Grumly Pretty Mail allows customizing Flarum emails.

I don't remember whether Pretty Mail has a preset for this extension or not. If it doesn't, you could take a look at how Pretty Mail replaces email templates to see how it works in Flarum. There's no straightforward solution but it's definitely doable, as demonstrated by Pretty Mail.

Update for beta 14
*** Remove option to show both followed tags & discussions
- This option showed discussions that the user did not have access to due to an SQL logic issue
- The only current way of fixing this is to remove the option
- If you can't update to beta 14 yet, update fof/follow-tags to version 0.4.5
Add flarum/tags to composer.json require
- prevents disabling flarum/tags with fof/follow-tags enabled or enabling follow-tags without tags enabled
