Upgrade to Beta 9 - potential issue ?

MikeJones thanks. I agree, and (by my own assessment - I've worked in IT for 28 years mostly in infrastructure and I'm also a developer) usually I can work around most of these issues, but this one has left me scratching my head somewhat.

My forum is a success thanks to flarum, so I'm off course reluctant to go elsewhere.

For anyone interested, this was an interesting combination of two things:

Somehow, an incorrect driver name of upper-case "SMTP" found its way into the settings (should be "smtp"). In the upcoming beta.10 release, this will no longer be a problem. In this case, it caused an exception.
The exception was hard to debug because it occurred very early in the app lifecycle (which could have - and will soon be - prevented in the two extensions that triggered the issue). This, too, will be improved in beta.10.

Update: Successfully updated to Beta 9 this morning in live with no issues.

I was terrified to mess up my just started community. Thank you @[deleted] for going through all these to help me and fellow flarum users to fix the issues. I had to remove the following extensions to get through the update from beta 8 to beta 9 successfully.

flagrow/bazaar
flagrow/console

Things went smooth right after that 🙂 Thank you @luceos @datitisev and team.
