GitHub launched a sponsors program. The idea is relatively similar to OpenCollective, and you can read more here. Most notably, Microsoft/GitHub will match any donations to a project through GitHub Sponsors in the short term future. It's a great way to help people support the project and receive more sponsors.
Patreon is also a really nice way to contribute. Not everyone wants to join OpenCollective, and Patreon already has a huge userbase of small donors. It'd be nice if we could tap into that. Convenience and the network effect can't be understated. I think opening up to GitHub Sponsors would be much nicer in the short term than a Patreon, but I hope that both options are considered.
