When you add some new groups in permission section but set different member name for each of them.
such like. 1、Admin - Admin (Member Name - Group Name)；2、Super Mod - Admin; 3、Mod - Admin
then you will see all 3 new members display "Admin", which is the GROUP NAME as their name.

but, the most interesting thing is, when you try to assign someone some groups in profile page (hit edit button), and you will see these items display their MEMBER NAME (Admin, Super Mod, Mod).

i think this is a display bug, it can somehow disturb your work with permissions if you have a lot of groups. hope you guys can check this post and i'm looking forward to your reply

zjh4473 first is the singular. Second is plural form. Not sure how this should be a bug?

zjh4473 Can you show me a screenshot of one of these groups? I'm trying to figure out what you mean by "member name" and "group name." Perhaps this is just a misinterpretation of the singular/plural naming schemes that you can set for groups, both are intended to be variations on each other (e.g. Admin and Admins, Super Mod and Super Mods).

luceos you mean the difference between those two is just singular and plural??? but in Chinese Translation it tells me the second is the group name...........i thought they would share same permission if i give them same group name

zjh4473 Sounds like this is a mistranslation, and should be reported to the translator.

Here's the empty fields in English:

First shows "Singular (e.g. Mod)"
Second shows "Plural (e.g. Mods)"

These fields are used in different contexts, they're not used to group the permissions or help tell them apart. The first (singular) term is going to be what you see most often in Flarum and how you will select the group.

jordanjay29 This is a good example of how placeholder labels cause problems because they are no longer visible when the fields are (pre-)filled. Can you open a ticket about this? 🙏
