Probem reported from a user

Hi all. I report it here but post can be moved where it should 🙂

I have a user who reported to me that he can't register on my website ( Login only by flarum ) because he didn't get the notification message for activate his account.
So, the solution he take is to use the "password lost" link to have a mail for change his pwd.
The email, that time was send and the user can log in/of the website.. Cool for him.

But, he can't comment.. so i've checked on the database, and the confirmation parameter "is_email_confirmed" is set to 0.

Perhaps, it will be a good thing for the user, if the change of password can validate this parameters...

mrnemesys To add to what Clark said, if this isn't a widespread problem and you just need to fix a few users, you can manually activate any account as an admin. Navigate to their Profile, click the Controls menu, then Edit. There will be a button to Activate the account if they have not yet verified their email.

True, this could be done.

But also there is a banner at the top of the website that offers to send the email verification again. This is the intended way to proceed if you don't receive the confirmation email. Does the user don't have that banner ? It should be visible as long as the account isn't confirmed.

In my case, it's just for report... we are only 3 members on the site... Me with 3 account, my wife and the new user.
This last one didn't send me a mail to report his problem, it's a friend from an citizen association for which i share the diffusion list who send me the information ^^'

clarkwinkelmann for the banner, it's in place, no problem but when you don't receive the e-mail, the resend fonction do the same as the original, so you don't get it the same way.
I've got the problem on localhost ( 99.99% of my time is in localhost ) trying to get laragon mail works ( i know, it's not a flarum error but configuration ) and use the resend email each time to check if it's ok or not.

tankerkiller125 ha, didn't think about that. I use an 2 account with gmail, 1 another with hotmail, and 3-4 from my domain, so i didn't think about it. I will ask this user about his provider for later.

Another note is that if it only affects some users your email server is likely getting blocked by their email provider in which case you have other issues you need to worry about as well.
