Pockethold installation - PHP Version

Today i've started the first installation in my community shared host. (We will migrate from old SMF since the start of that project) We've created a staging folder and uploaded everything we need to start tests and configurations with Flarum.

When we reach the installer.php we got this error:

Flarum requires PHP 7.1 or greater. Your versions is 7.3.8

Greater? We got an earlier version, the 7.3. There's some mistake or we need exactly the 7.1?

Hi, you need to use the version in the release section, not the source from the master branch itself. That version is unstable at best, as it contains code related to a rebuild.

Edit: also remember, pockethold is an 3rd party solution, and not directly connected to the flarum project. If you are migrating an existing community, I highly recommend you use the official installation method. That way it will be easier to get support for your migration.

It's difficult for us because we don't have acess to SSH and composer in the shared host and we don't know how to install in another way

acmirapt Understandable. One option would be to set up a local staging area on your own computer, and do the conversion there. Hopefully using the release version of pockethold will help some.

If not, then local staging is the way to go. That is, setting up an environment on your computer comparable to the settings on your host, and then do composer install from there.

I've solved this. We can now install Flarum without pockethold and install all plugins too. I've talked with host provider and they said that we can import composer file to the path we want to run command and then run the commands we want via Cron Job. We have installed a test version sucessfully.
