nitaaikumar maybe that the explanation in order to get out SES sandbox don't fit their judgment I don't know. At this time I'm using OVH's smtp relay and it works pretty good, my emails reputation is 7/10 so why paying much?

brian85 Thanks. Do we need to buy a server at OVH for using its smtp relay? Any buy link for the same? I searched on the OVH website but did not find any pricing. What are OVH's charges for this and how many emails can it send every month? Does it have SPF, DKIM verification like SES? It may not have Send From like SES has?

nitaaikumar I just taked the domain with OVH and a VPS and it works well you can always add a dkim manually, but in my case it seems to be enough, nos users reported me that emails are in their spam folder.

Sentinel They have information when they have information, It's a small team of developers who have other things to do as well. Flarum in it's current state is pretty stable and is run in production by both small and very large communities. The unstable part is the extension APIs that extension developers use.

@luceos @Franz I'm wondering if you could share if you have any plans for stepping up Flarum's development pace. It's not a secret that Flarum's development is glacial, since there's just a few commits per month when there's a lot of work that needs to be done.

I'm not blaming you of anything of course, I understand the reasons why it's like this, but since you seem to be very convinced with bringing Flarum forward, especially with the recent Flarum Foundation thing, you must be thinking about a way to push Flarum's development 😄. Ultimately, that's what will keep the software innovative and make sure it survives the competition going forward.

luceos well, yes, partially... Fixed release cycles are great to see and definitely useful for administrators, but I was thinking more about the actual changes/improvements. For example, beta11 is just about a couple of weeks away and most issues scheduled for beta11 will be clearly moved to beta12. And the same happened with beta10. I know, it's a consequence of fixed releases, but still... It will take a year and 3 releases to tackle the issues that were scheduled for one beta, with this rate.

matteocontrini in all honesty, there are several initiatives to step up the game. But many of those require a) more money b) more people or c) more time from existing staff. I've been spending a lot of time to get all of these of the ground, but this has to be done gradually and with care.

In the meantime all our eyes are aimed at a stable release for 2020, but more specifically beta 11.

luceos Keep the motivation ! Many of us understand how it's dificult to keep the motivation along the time and behind the desktops there is humans with all their up and downs, so you have all my support and it will be done when it will be done the important is the quality, 2020 will be a great year for flarum !

Implementing traditional installer will improve confidence on the life cycle of Flarum. Another thing is the dependence on numerous addons. The bazaar is handling it well, I think.

An update long overdue, woops!

I've been making some progress on the changes required to the user preferences column that stores both notification preferences and all others. These are going to be split up, notification preferences will be moved into its own table and specific user preferences are suggested to be a dedicated column on the users table. This requires more work than anticipated because there are several methods on the User class that we are going to mark deprecated.
Updated our servers to protect against CVE-2019-11043.
Readied up a new donation source we're going to announce mid November 🤐
Formulated and discussed a new source for development capacity. We're going to do a trial run during the next development cycles.
Moving forward in gaining our first partner, a kind of sponsor that signs a contract with us to gain long term financial support.
Lots of other small organizational things and decisions.

We can at some point submit Flarum to install through Softaculous as well. It helps improve adoption.
