Installation error: requirements could not be resolved

I tried several times installing different extensions, all ending up the same error:
your requirements could not be resolved to an installable set of packages

It's my first time to deal with PHP and Linux stuff... I googled the error but found few discussions around it. Is it something wrong with my PHP config?
Can anybody help with it?

alisonysy Considering the error message above when you tried to run php flarum info, it looks like you are not in your Flarum root folder. Change directory to that folder and try to run the commands again. If you are getting successful output from php flarum info you should be clear to run composer require commands for extensions successfully as well.

Have similar problem, but the problem is solved. Example here is not working
composer require fof/upload, but here is working now: composer require fof/upload:*
