File permissions problem on install

So I finished installing flarum but when i goto set it up. I get:

The /var/www/html/forums directory is not writable.
The /var/www/html/forums/assets directory is not writable.
The /var/www/html/forums/storage directory is not writable.

Even when I chmod 0775 the three directories then restart apache2 it still wont get rid of the errors.

What should I do?

leehai Can you run ls -lA on the Flarum root folder and paste it here?

It'd likely that the file ownership is not set correctly, it's an easy fix once we can confirm that.

Did you run chmod recursively into the assets and storage directories? And on the Flarum directory itself?

leehai I think you've done most everything right here, I'm sure it's just something tiny that was missed. Or something in your server config that Flarum doesn't like (but doesn't know how to tell you).
