How to setup Gmail to send Flarum mail

Hello, I would like to share my knowledge on how to set up a mail with flarum, I hope this might atlest help nontechnical peoples, I this work for me I have hosted my flarum on digital ocean droplet I hope this setup work for other providers also. this might take only less than 5 mins 😀

1> Follow this video. A very short video
- Enable IMAP
- Allow Less secure app access
2> Setup email in flarum
- Go to mail at admin page
- Enter your sender email address (e.g. example@gmail.com or example@yourdomain.com)
- In the drop-down driver select SMTP then there will be SMTP Settings form
- fill the form
- Host: smtp.gmail.com
- Port: 465
- Encryption: ssl
- Username: (your gmail address)
- Password: (your gmail address password)

Now, I will share the second option if above was failed

The error log may show this message: Authenticator LOGIN returned Expected response code 235 but got code "534", with message "534-5.7.14 then you have to activating the alternative solution. By using Apps Password. This password will replace your usual Google Mail password for the specific (One Time) application only, such Flarum etc.

Go to https://myaccount.google.com
Choose SECURITY tab on left menu
You see 2-Step Verification option, activating by fill your mobile phone number (finished the progress)
Now, back to previous menu (under 2-Step Verification) there is App Password option
Create your App by selecting from drop-down menu and choose Others, name it FLARUM Sendmail or something else for your easy recognizing
Then press Generate, Google will text you a message and fill it. Format will G-xxxxxx
Now, Google will generating 16-digits app password. Keep it, and use this password on your FLARUM Email setting. You don't need "G-" character from text/SMS send by Google. Take only 16 digits generated number.
That's it.. Generic App Password successfully installed. 😃
Just wait a a few minutes before test your new setting. Your mail may arrive slow, few minutes. But it will come to the correct inbox, not spam folder. eg.. test by use FORGET Password Login member for Flarum
You may find Warning from Google Mail (Web Mail - Critical security alert), after you sent mail from this way. This is normal. Just open that warning, and read. It will displaying Unrecognized device and Access location and IP Address. This is your SERVER or Webhosting. Make sure the IP listed is same as your server. Don't forget to confirm by click Yes, it was me. Now, you will not received this message anymore from Google.

Now you don't to have worry about your private email exposed when use FLARUM, and replace by Google Mail which have better and good Anti-Spam prevention. For big forum like I had (more than a million posts), spam mail may send by real (human) spammer who successfully login in to your Flarum.

Of course you can set different NO-Reply mail address to avoid your real mail, but this is not good for certain email provider. Your FLARUM mail may set as spam. And this is not good for Server.

And another Good News is your EHLO smtp message header is Google, not your SMTP Banner server. Now, you have FREE and valid Mail and Worry Free Mail SMTP without being rejected by user as spam email. Also Free your money from purchasing service mail like MailGun, Mandrill, SendGrid etc.

Send mail, and voila... Raw Message is Google.

Please use wisely. I don't know How many Google limit the number of mail send everyday. Beware! It will cause your account to suspend etc.

Thank you for the guide, I also followed FBI's advice to use a one-time password. I wanted the email to be sent from one of my google groups and put that address in the 'sender' field but it still comes from my personal email address - have you got any tips?
