Problem with changing external url target to self via extend.php

I made an extend.php as per this github link and uploaded it to the root and cleared cache. Still the external links are opening in new tabs. So I checked the php error while loading the extend.php.

I tried changing the line 10 new Extend\Formatter to new Formatter but that still gives this Uncaught Error. Any help will be kindly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

nitaaikumar That's an extend.php for a separate extension. It'll need to be loaded as an extension via composer repositories, it cannot simply replace the Flarum extend.php.

jordanjay29 this is not true. Any extend from an extension can be used locally as long as it does not contain php from that extension. What the issue is here, is that nitaaikumar forgot to add the use statements for the Formatter class properly. It's not in the Flarum Extend namespace.

luceos Thanks. Yes I was thinking that it was possible as even @datitisev told me so. If you can please tell me what are those use statements or give me the full code for it since I am a novice in coding, I would be grateful.

In hindsight, that import statement should be working. Can you post the output of php flarum info? And post your extend.php please.

extend.php is not supposed to reside in your public folder but rather in your flarum root, i.e. /srv/users/myflarumsite/apps/myflarumsite/extend.php.
