Migration script from Wordpress wpForo to Flarum

Wordpress wpForo to Flarum script is edited, adjusted and upgraded PHPBB -> Flarum script originally written by @robrotheram

The script is tested on multiple occasions in the last month without errors. The biggest one was with 4500 users, 45 forums/tags, 14k discussions, and 258k posts. If you have any comments or need help feel free to tag me in the comments.

This script will successfully migrate:

All Wordpress users with all their data
All wpForo topics
All wpForo posts
All wpForo forums which will be transformed into Flarum tags

Usage Instructions

Create a fresh Flarum using the standard install instructions
When you create the Flarum make sure the email is different to the original admin in Wordpress otherwise there will be some conflicts
Edit wpForo_to_Flarum.php lines 12 - 17 and fill in Database username, database password, Wordpress database name, Flarum database name, Wordpress tables prefix and Flarum tables prefix
Place wpForo_to_Flarum.php file into the Flarum root directory
Run the script simply by visiting your_forum_url/wpForo_to_Flarum.php

Known issues

It will not migrate users passwords, users are required to reset their passwords.
In Flarum user profile Posts & Discussions, the number will be "0" despite all successfully transferred data. It will be updated to a real number after user's first new post/discussion in Flarum

FYI - I used your wpForo to Flarum import script this weekend. Worked! Considering the age of the script and how outdated all the versions are, I was surprised it still worked. Thank you so much!

ONE COMMENT: On a 250K forum, it did throw about 2500 insertion errors into the flarum_discussion tables due to the fact the topicTitle was too long. I added a simple php truncation tweak of the title and then the import went flawlessly.

You really should market this script to wpForo users. wpForo was a massive mistake. What garbage software. The overhead of wordpress, per request, is insane. wpForo was so slow, bloated, complicated and required too many paid addons and updates all the time. Ruined my forum. I regret the day I switched. 😥

Yes, unfortunately, I know that. For some reason, I decided to migrate from SMF to wpForo and it almost killed my community. Luckily, Flarum soon enough came into the beta phase, and because of awesome Flarum developers, my community survived and much more.

One piece of advice, after migration to Flarum, check in all tables foreign keys and indexes if they are the same as they are in the new Flarum installation.

More details please. Having a hard time deciphering this.
