Search is broken

I have a test forum and have created 2 test posts. However, when I search for any word in the title or body of either post I get nothing. This is the first time I have tried the search feature, so I don't know if it got broken down the line somewhere or if it didn't work from the start.

Which words did you search for? It could be that they're just too short...
Did they appear in the post's content, or only in the title? We don't search the latter (yet).

Franz I was searching the titles. Will try the body and report back.

Franz 3 letter's word can't search.like "seo".

violetamon Yes, that's how it's intended to work at present.

Looks like searching the body works as long as it is 4 letters or more.

The search mechanism is awful, it won't return any results until i see the search all discussions page. ?

ArjunChandran That hasn't been my experience at all. Can you make your feedback more constructive ... for example, add some detailed information about how you're trying to use the search function?

Dominion my forum is about WordPress, there are discussions titled with WordPress but if i search WordPress, it won't show any result.

ArjunChandran Hmm ... that seems to happen on discuss.flarum.org as well.

If I type in "word" I get several suggestions in the Search dropdown.
If I type in "WordPress" I get no suggestions, even though WordPress is mentioned in many threads.

However, I know I've searched for threads about WordPress here before. And sure enough:

If I type in "wordpress" I get several suggestions, as expected.

This makes me think that the search function is handling "WordPress" differently because of the capitalization. Maybe @Toby or @Franz can say whether this behavior was intended ... seems like a bug to me.

ArjunChandran Yeah, that also happens sometimes...
Try to refresh the page and see if it takes longer and shows any results.

Dominion That would definitely be a bug. Haven't looked at the code yet to see whether there is an obvious reason for this faulty behavior... but I don't think it's intended.
