Blank page on installing Flarum

I just installed flarum on my desktop for testing extensions, unfortunately after the installation and after I entered the forum details, database details and admin details it just shows a blank page. localhost/public/ is completely blank. Could really use the help..

Installed the latest version of Flarum v0.1.0-beta11
Using php 7.4.2
Using mysql Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.7.29
Using Apache 2.4.18

Running on Ubuntu.

Alright I fixed it! I set permission to 777 and it works perfectly now. Initially it was set to 755 and it just gave a blank page. I'm guessing with 777 I allowed the browser to read the contents on the index file.

Edit: I faced some issues immediately after this one, but all of them got fixed thanks to this post.
