Private Messages sent as email?

Is there an extension which enables sending private messages forwarded from the server as emails?

I have no interest in storing PMs beyond the time it takes to forward out the message to the user's email, but having a functionality where users could directly contact each other in this way would be huge.

Are there any extensions available or planned that do this?

To my knowledge there are none.

You could reach out to a developer to get it made for you, or develop it yourself if you are into extension development.

Many forums offer email option, just like PM option.
