Language packs are installed but doesn't appear

First of all I would like to thank @Qiaeru for helping me for hours to try to solve issue that I have with translation on my server.

My problem is that when I activate language pack no select box show up on admin#/basic or forum index page so it can be changed.

Things I've tried:
I've installed two language packs, the Serbian one and the French one, they are displayed in the extension page, but the language selector is not there, and UPDATE settings SET value = 'sr-Latn' WHERE key = 'default_locale'; didn't show the language neither. Also deleted the *.js files from assets/ folder.

I've followed the same procedure on my devel server and everything worked, so that must be an issue with the production server. But installation of Flarum on my production server also went without any warnings or errors just like on devel. Everything is installed with composer.

Any ideas?

I tried everything, to delete the Serbian language pack (to see if it was the source of the issue, but it's not), to activate and disable many times the extensions, to force the language activation via the database, to clear caches, but it doesn't solved the issue.

His server meets Flarum' system requirements. We even tried to install a random extension, it worked. Only language packs seem to be affected. I can't reproduce this issue on my local server.

For information, we're talking about Flarum 0.1.0 Beta 4, with, of course, compatible language packs.

One update, I have another domain on that server and everything works fine on that Flarum instance.

I can't reproduce on my local install (dev-master) either.

Are you able to select a language in the header on the forum itself?

No, the language selector isn't present, like there was no language packs installed. But they are, the composer.json of Flarum is well updated, the language files are present and language packs are displayed on the extension list of the administration panel. The language selector on the admin page to select the default language is also not present. I really don't know what is the issue, especially when it works with another domain on the same server.

@bugsysha I see the Serbian language is working on your production forum, I assume you solved the issue?

Qiaeru nope, it's not working. Reinstalled everything again. It's just displaying it since I've had to change in the database the default_locale row and turned on and off english and serbian language packs about 50 times. Same issue remains.

If it works on another server, why not copy over the files and DB from that server?

jordanjay29 It works on the same server on other domain. It works on devel server. But that one instance is not working. Have not idea why since it's configured exactly the same. Copying of files and db export didn't work.

Because we tried to figure what the issue was to be able to feedback it to developers. It's maybe a bug that users can have in the future. Plus, I don't think the export will work correctly with the current state of Flarum.

Qiaeru It might not be a Flarum problem. You could try what I suggest in a subdirectory. There shouldn't be an issue with the export, using a tool like phpMySQL should be able to make a db backup, which you can then import into the server. Just manually change the config.php values for URL and DB connection and you should be golden.

jordanjay29 Okay, good to know. Last time I tried, there was so much files to copy over, and finally, it didn't worked (it was a fresh local install copied to a production server).

Same problem - installed a custom language pack, it's enabled in the admin section, but the language switcher doesn't appears in the flarum header. What can be the possible problem?

Have you tried php flarum cache:clear?

Also try a CTRL F5 to clear your browser cache.

The browsers cache is cleared as for the terminal command I get:

I think flarum doesn't recognizes my extension as a language extension - probably some problems in formatting , that would be my guess. Tried changing locale value to "lt" from "en" (my added language locale value) in DB via phpMyAdmin, the switcher appeared with "default" and "english" values, but my language was no where to be found.

I think I will just resolve to changing the core.yml file to my own and re-enabling the english extension, until solution is found for this issue.

Just tried - same results, the language switcher haven't appeared.

EDITED: Looks like that even changing the english core.yml only affected a couple words... I don't understand...
