White page after setup

Hi all, I've seen a few pages about the WPOD but not any that relate specifically to my scenario.

I've just setup flarum on a digital ocean droplet. All good.

I have chmod 777 the whole entire forum directory and all its children.

The flarum htaccess file is there

When I browse to my domain/forum-directory I just get a white page.

I have tried outputting some debug text in the index.php file but it isn't rendering.

Any ideas?

Ps haven't setup any databases yet or anything. I assumed it would take me through that during setup.

have you set debug to true in your config?

Hi luceos I know this is going to make me sound extremely ignorant, but I searched in my flarum directory and couldn't see a config file. Could point me in the direction?

gigamick The config file is actually config.php. I think the option debug is set automatically, but if not, set it by replacing

'debug' => false,

with

'debug' => true,

Datitisev - Thank you very much, however there doesn't seem to be a config.php file in my Flarum install. Starting to think this might be pointing at a bigger problem. Which directory should it be in?

Yeah - I also don't have bootstrap.php which is something I just read about.

gigamick Did you successfully execute the following in your server/whatever root folder?

composer create-project flarum/flarum forum-directory --stability=beta

forum-directory would be whatever path you use for the forum, such as forum for /forum

I ran this:

php ../composer/composer.phar create-project flarum/flarum . --stability=bet

inside the directory I created for the forum.

gigamick Yes, you can use any number of the popular image services (such as imgur) and post using [img]http://your.url/to.img[/img].
