[deleted] I forgot who's forum I saw it on but I believe it had a discussion count instead. While not impossible to implement, I don't think it would be practical to add to the Tags extension itself, it'll look very cluttered IMHO. Now, that doesn't mean that an extension can't be created to solve what you're asking and to which shouldn't be too hard to create 😉
