This can be faked using config.platform settings in composer.json. There are even plugins for that: https://github.com/instrumentisto/composer-platform-generator

In general running composer update or composer require on live server is a bad practice - you should generate your lock file in some stage environment and verify that nothing was broken after these changes. Not only because of memory consumption, but mainly to keep your forum stable.

Had some minor issues with upgrading. First I got an internal 500 message after upgrading but when I also upgraded php from 7.3 to 7.4 all worked oke. Also removed the Bazaar extension which gave some errors in composer.

Also some trouble with installing the therealsujitk/flarum-ext-gifs extension. Looks. Composer gets killed all the time. Maybe a memory thingy.

But version 12 is running now 😄

Thanks for your work on this guys. Awesome work!
Question: the upgrade instructions say "Disable all 3rd party extensions."

I wasn't sure which extensions where 1st party and which where 3rd party, so i just took a screen grab and disabled them all. I took a screen grab prior to disabling them, but i've lost it. Is there any way for me to check which extensions are built in (and should be enabled by default)?

MartinJD those you installed previously could be enabled, if they misbehave uninstall them using composer.

For future reference the vendor is the team publishing the extension, the vendor is everything before the /. So flarum/mentions has vendor flarum, which is us. All flarum/ prefixed packages/dependencies in the composer.json are first party extensions.
