In Pennsylvania, USA all schools are closed starting Monday for 10 days, I'm happy for it, but at the same time they're keeping close contact with others. In the morning starting Tuesday you can go to your school (select locations) and pick up Grab-N-Go breakfast and lunch, it's mainly for those who cannot support themselves completely. Whereas where other areas have schools closed for 6 weeks like Washington State, Pennsylvania districts will reevaluate on a [district-level] whether they need to continue the closure... unless ordered by the Governor otherwise. I don't like how they're handling the situation, because even with what precautions they're taking, it's somehow still spreading randomly. As of today there's a new case in my county, and so far the only one... so I think we've held off pretty long. Stores are out of paper towels, toilet paper, hand sanitizer, and some, food. Bath and Body Works has reportedly sold all hand sanitizer in select locations as far as I know.
I'm fully unaware whether I will be doing school remotely, but they did say that parents should watch their email for as to when students can get their belongings and laptops, or be assigned one if they're new. I don't need a laptop for home, because I have my own computer, plus I'd rather not take anything out of the building at this point, even though there haven't been any reported cases. I have a theory that at one point I've already had the Coronavirus, although I don't believe I was tested. On February 19th around 8-9 maybe 10 PM, I began experiencing a sore throat, the next day I went to school because it was only a sore throat and figured it would go away within hours with cough drops. It did not, in fact throughout the day my temperature would sky rocket, then go back down below normal temperature, and skyrocket again. I went to the doctor that night because I was dizzy, experiencing a fever (I'll get to it), and had a sore throat (I did not have a runny nose). I could barely eat, and everytime I ate something hot, my temperature would go through the roof.
When I got to the doctor, my temperature was 101.4, but I felt hotter than that. I was coughing and sneezing here and there, but it wasn't something I was too concerned about. As told by my doc, I took Tylenol and Ibuprofen to level out my temperature, I still used cough drops and tasty Jolly Ranchers for the sore throat. I was told to take Friday off. I was feeling better by Sunday, but my sore throat was still minor. 2 weeks later and I still had a sore throat, as far as I know, and as much as I got told, I did not have strep... They said it was more viral than bacterial so they couldn't give me anything for it, but what they recommended. To this day, I still question what I had and am unaware.
Thank you for listening to my ted talk 🙂 stay safe everyone ❤️
