Is better MySql or Mariadb database?

Hi,

I'm migrating from Mybb (mysql) to Flarum.

Mariadb is already set up on the new server, how best to do it now?

Do I try to change the Mybb database from Mysql to Mariadb and then import it on the Flarum?

Is better Mysql or Mariadb for Flarum?

debynory If you use Mariadb, you won't be able to improve Unicode text searching...

Stick to mariadb, that works fine as well 😉

There aren't many differences between them and we test Flarum on both.

SnakePromise In this case Flarum has difficulties searching UTF8 characters like CJK because of limitations in the databases. It requires special modifications to make CJK search work properly in flarum at the moment until a PR can be made that resolves it in the main release.

Since this topic is about which database server to use, what are thoughts on Postgres?

I have been doing a lot of reading and research. Flarum isn't compatable with Postgres. I am just curious.

SnakePromise I'm not sure about those, it may be OK but it might also have issues. It's not something that's I've tested.
