Looking for a Forum to install and use on my website. FBB, pBB, Flar, Discou...

Hey all, so I'm looking around for a forum and... well, So looking at FluxBB, phpBB Forum and tested one other that was just to the bin known as Discourse which was way to slow on my mobile when flipping too pages.... Anyway....
It seems Flarum has some of the same "modern" design or whatever and it is running better on the mobile then discourse - it might have something to do with discourse getting the messages for quick scroll thing - but way way to slow to be accepted.
So I was thinking of installing this to try it out - but found out that seem to be impossible as it uses different things, that is needed for installation... Anyway I wanted to ask if FluxBB is totally dead and if I'm going to use it what could be the problems that I would run into??? phpBB is another option I have - which seems to at least be alive and well with the "old" way of doing things so that is another option. Would have been interesting to try out Flarum on my own website https://JesusIsGodAlmighty.Life but I don't think I have the technical stuff to do that, the composer and all those things - my host don't seem to have that, or give me access to such things.
Anyway, what kind of problems would I run into if I used FluxBB - has everything stopped in regards of production of it? Thanks for your time.
By the way my website is a work in progress.... so... but it is as it is and moving little by little forward 🙂 Although I have around +40 GB of video and such on it in the video player 🙂

JesusIsGodAlmighty you'll obviously find us biased towards Flarum if you're asking for software suggestions.

Moving from another software to Flarum will ultimately be your decision.

If you want to try Flarum out, I'd suggest you take a look at our demo forums or FreeFlarum which offers free Flarum hosting (with some limitations). You can also install Flarum on your own computer.

At the moment we only recommend installing Flarum on hostings with SSH and Composer access.

clarkwinkelmann Nice, I might take a look on the FreeFlarum thing - I can see I ended giving up in regards of installation. I don't think my host has the thing for me to install it and all that. So.... Well, I might give the FreeFlarum a try to check it out. I've just successfully installed FluxBB although there are some PHP errors that needs sorted it seems. Anyway... I'm using way to much time deciding and looking around on this. I don't even know if there will be anyone using my forum when I get it up. Anyway.... I guess one can always move later to Flarum if, it seems there is tools for that. Thanks for the infomation Clark.

Thanks - Although playing around with it on flarum.cloud at the moment 🙂
I really don't know about this.... I have yet 3 options for a forum but it takes so much to test things out and get things to work and such. It's a hard choice 😃
But interesting to try it out on Flarum.cloud - at least I don't need to install anything to try it out. Very nice. It's pretty easy to setup it seems and what colors one wants. I dunno - I wonder how easy it would be to merge with a website and all.... I not sure if one can do anything with the header on the hosted place or what. But you can embed it to your webpage 🙂
I've embedded 3 Forums on my https://JesusIsGodAlmighty.Life/forum as of now at least. Trying out things - I think I got them all sorted and working on the site at least. So that is nice.
