User permissions/group by post count

Hello, I'm setting up my first flarum forum.
I'd like to restrict new users to a specific tag, maybe by assigning them to a newbie user group, and only after they got X post count they are automatically promoted to full members and can post in the whole forum.
I tried extensions like doorman, default-group and other extensions, I can't find a way to automatically promote users or set permissions by post count.
Am I missing something?

rc87 hi. I don't think such an extension exists at this time unfortunately.

It doesn't look like something too difficult to implement. If you are into development you could write it yourself, or you could find someone who will create the extension for a fee.

Aside from technical considerations, I would caution against such a simple mechanism. It only encourages members to post a lot of nonsense one-liners just to meet your criteria for promotion.

That said, a more elaborate approach that considers more aspects of trust, e.g. the length of posts, likes from trusted users etc. could create a more robust promotion system less prone to manipulation.

This seems like it could be the basis of a trust levels extension, IE automatically managing membership in certain groups by whether or not the user satisfies certain criteria.
